Craving a cheeseburger, but don’t want to ruin your healthy eating? These salads are so tasty, you won’t even miss the bun and all the extra fattening toppings!
Cheeseburger Salads
-1 lb lean ground beef
-1 Tablespoon Montreal Steak seasoning
-8 cups chopped romaine lettuce
-1 small sweet onion, diced
-1 Roma tomato, diced with seeds removed
-1/2 cup pickles, diced (I used spicy pickles, but use whatever is your favorite!)
-1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-Fat free Thousand Island dressing
For the croutons:
-3 slices sandwich bread
-1 Tablespoon olive oil
-1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1. Preheat oven to 300°.
2. Cut crust off of bread, the cut bread into small cubes. Place bread cubes into bowl, pour olive oil over and top with garlic powder. Mix well to evenly coat.
3. Spread bread out on a lined baking sheet, place in oven. Bake for 15 minutes, stir once, then bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, cook ground beef and season with steak seasoning. Drain any excess fat.
5. In a bowl, layer lettuce, beef, onion, tomato, pickle, cheese, and croutons. Drizzle dressing over top and enjoying immediately.
